I did it.
Ball drop has been witnessed live. I may’ve looked like a zombified fool wearin my dad’s 1995 Kentucky Derby t-shirt and cookie monster pants, but I did it.
(for the record, it’s extremely hard to take a picture of yourself yawning when you’re already slap happy and drunk on lack of sleep.)
So, tons of blogs are doin the whole resolutions/2011 recap kind of posts. I want to say I’m not, but alas, I am.
I didn’t want to make oober specific resolutions for 2012, so I opted for a vague route.
Would thou likest to accompany me on this ambiguous path?
Resolutions:
- Stay recovered.
- Maintain my close relationship with God.
- Become more flexible (both with time/schedule and physically haha)
- Continue pursuing my fitness goals with weight training.
- Keep making good grades.
- Try new foods and conquer fear foods.
- Make more time for fun reading.
- Have fun.
They may sound simple, but if I overlook these basic things, I won’t be able to excel in other areas of life.
So what does 2012 have in store?
- 20th birthday
- FINALLY going to Trader Joe’s when it opens here
- *Hopefully* summer program abroad… (more to come when I get my application back…)
- Starting my junior year of college in the fall
- Outliving Nostradamus’ prediction
But besides those things, I don’t know.
It kinda freaks me out not knowing about the future, but at the same time, it’s a wee bit exciting.
How boring would life be without stretching limits? or stretchy yoga pants for that matter?
~~~~
Well that’s about it from me. I think I’m gonna go ignore my internal body clock and try to go back to sleep haha
One final thing though…
Yay for vague goals and stretchy pants
You are fantastic. I love that picture
Your resolutions are great, I love that they are all achievable and I love that they are all about improving your quality of life!
Happy 2012, you deserve a wonderful year!!
Awesome goals! I really like how they are simple and just very general – makes them much more attainable (at least I Think so) that way.
Happy 2012!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I love your New Years resolutions!!
I did not stay up. Big fat fail. In my defense, I wasn’t feeling well!! Glad you made it though! I don’t usually set resolutions, but I always have tons of goals. I like the list you’ve made up – it doesn’t sound too out of reach and there is a lot of good stuff on there!! And we’l show nostradamus when we’re making our resolutions next year
Great goals. Mine are rather vague compared to yours
“How boring would life be without stretching limits? or stretchy yoga pants for that matter?”
I really love these resolutions….I suppose a bit vague, but they are the core ones that need to keep on going in order for us to thrive! It’s always essential to remember that
I am glad you stayed up for the new year!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Congrats on watching the ball drop. I couldn’t make it.. My mom didn’t feel like it, and I had to wake up early anyways. I like that your resolutions are nonspecific but still important! That gives you more room to breathe and accomplish them.
Nice goals! 2012 is going to be an awesome year!
#2 is my favorite goal on that list! That’s something I’m trying to focus more on too
Happy New Year, girl! I hope 2012 is fantastic
I love your goals! Simple and vague? Maybe. Totally necessary? Yes! My goals definitely included some simple and vague ones as well … like be more patient and worry less. Those are definite necessities in my life.
I know you’ll ROCK 2012 girl!!!! Can’t wait to follow you on your journey through it! And btw, LOVE the last quote pic you posted
Happy New Year, Alexandra! I am excited to read about you achieving your goals
I like your goals; I think it’s a lot better to be vague than to be specific and set yourself up for failure (not that you would!! but you get my point). Love the yawn picture. haha.
Love ya girl- Happy new Year!
I think you’re so right with your resolutions, especially number 8 – it’s easy to forget things like that which are kind of little things but also the most important… and I’m intrigued about the summer programme, it sounds great! Happy New Year
Loving that quote! Imagine big
2012 shall be grand, for sure. The possibilites are endless! Happy New Year girl!
Yay for staying awake to see the ball drop! I ended up staying up til probably 2 and waking up again at 9 but I’m still so tired. Oh well, it’s only once a year!
I love your resolutions and I know you’ll kick butt accomplishing them!
happy new years! i have such faith in you and your ability to meet all your goals! looking forward to a great year filled with challenges, growth, and success!
WHEN IS THE TRADER JOES OPENING?!?! I’ll be right there with you haha. Way to stay up. I think I passed out literally 10 minutes before the ball dropped. Oh I am a pathetic 22 yr old. I’m still recovering from Israel though. Sweet resolutions though. Especially the one about reading. I’ve done a lot of reading during break and I want to continue it during the year.
The fort worth one and plano one open in the spring and the Dallas one in the fall!!! I’m so stoked!!!
Great goals! 2012 is going to be a great year for you! I usually fall asleep before midnight too but I took a 2-hour power nap before dinner this year and then hit the sack right after midnight! I just love my sleep way too much
Love this post! I usually have some specific, and some general resolutions. I’m totally with you on your 2nd resolution! And I share your feelings about being kinda freaked out yet excited about the future! Happy New year Alexandra!!!
Yay! I like the resolutions to continue doing the good things you already have. Maintenance is just as important as conquering new goals!
And kudos to you on staying up…I fell asleep at 11:40
Ok one…you’re getting a TJs?! I am SO happy for you!
And two…this is too funny…”Become more flexible (both with time/schedule and physically haha)”…better hit that yoga!
