WIGEOT

I feel like I MUST redeem myself from the weirdness of yesterday’s post…

WIGEOT: What I’m gonna eat on Thanksgiving edition!

Doesn’t that title sound like a pokemon?? :P

i couldn't resist this hilarious image

Whoa. Next Wednesday I’ll be HOME prepping a thanksgiving feast with my mom while celebrating my dad’s birthday!! GAH I can’t wait! Then only like 2 weeks left of the freakin semester woooo

So in honor of my excitement for next week, I thought I’d share what foods I’m gonna be stuffing my face with at home since I probably won’t be able to participate in WIAW next week due to the family festivities.

My mom decided to get the turkey and all the ingredients for our sides from Whole Foods {now you know why I adore her}. I knew I kept her around for something haha ;)

Anywho, let’s take a lookskies. (I got most of these pics from the Whole Foods website)

First up, the main attraction. Whole Foods Diestel Turkey mmmm

Of course you can’t have turkey alone. Must call in some delicious reinforcements!

mom's homemade squash casserole

mashed potatoes

Whole Foods pecan cornbread stuffing NOM

my mom's homemade cranberry sauce

green beans and carrots

grandma's homemade sweet potato marshmallow casserole mmm

seasonal veggies to crunch on

And of course, you can’t have a proper Thanksgiving feast without some…PUMPKIN PIE!

I can’t wait to cook and bake all of this stuff with my mom for the family! It’s so much fun to spend time together. :)

My tummy is getting excited just seeing this pics haha

Before I jet, I have one last picture to share…I think Whole Foods hits the nail on the head with it…

Why yes. Yes it is.

Happy WIAW friends!!

US citizens–what food are you most excited about for Thanksgiving? Best thing you’ve eaten this week?

  1. Hey girl! I just started reading your blog and you are an absolute inspiration. I’ve already tried your sweet potatoes with peanut butter… so good!

I can’t wait for all my thanksgiving food! If I had to choose though I think it would have to be between my aunt’s sweet potato casserole or the turkey of course! I could eat a Thanksgiving dinner every week.

  2. a whole foods feast!!! such an epic win!! I have no idea what part of Thanksgiving I’m looking forward to most….umm I really enjoy taking the Pilsbury Doughboy dinner rolls and twisting them into fun shapes like turkeys and pilgrim hats…my mom’s homemade stuffing is probably my favorite dish! and the green bean/almond/onion casserole! and pumpkin pie, that’s sort of implied haha :D

  3. Mmm…I can’t wait for Thanksgiving! I’m most excited about my Tofurky Roast! I seriously wait for it all year long. If you’ve never tried it, I definitely recommend that you do. All of my non-vegan friends love it as well. :)

  4. Hahahah Wigeot totally does sound like a pokemon!!! Literally laughing out loud here. I’m excited to mashed turnips. Weird thing to be excited for, I know, but I love it!

  5. I *cannot* believe Thanksgiving is next week. The past few weeks (months?!) have been TOTALLY crazy so time’s been FLYING. I feel like I’m trying to grab little snippets of time to slow down a little bit and it’s just not working! It’s good sometimes (hello, long work days ;-) ) but bad others!

  6. Oh my goodness…where to even begin! First of all, that pokemon picture made me crack up out loud. Can WIGEOT be the new Thanksgiving pokemon? Perhaps a turkey-pumpkin hybrid?

And I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving feasting now! Sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie…and stuffing! Oh my!!!

  7. Your Thanksgiving dinner is totally going to rock! Why don’t we celebrate Thanksgiving every 3 months or so? That would be so awesome! I’m such sucker for apple pie on Thanksgiving with a huge dollop of vanilla ice cream! Yum!

  8. Normally I don’t like stuffing but pecan cornbread stuffing sounds crazy good, especially since it’s from Whole Foods! I might have to get my mom to get all our stuff from there too!

Only a few more days left til break…woooooo!

  9. ALL of this looks amazing! I love stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce, those are definitely my seasonal faves. I usually make regular cornbread stuffing, but that WF pecan stuff sounds delish! I may have to make a shopping trip…

  10. ok don’t kill me, but Im not a fan of turkey day foods!! I do like the pies (of course) but I dont like turkey, mashed potatoes (if theres butter) or cranberry sauce! Oh and especially not stuffing. Am I weird? I like the rolls though :)

  11. I’m so jealous of all the food you’re gunna be eating!! It all looks so delicious! :D
For thanksgiving, we’re having a fresh turkey (they’re 100x better than frozen!) and some vegetables. I know…so exciting :P I”m just excited for break!

  12. Loving your menu!! I am coming over for your Turkey Day festivities, that’s okay right? :) Sweet potato casserole is a tradition at my house, and I am in charge of desserts, so pumpkin pie is sure as heck on my menu!
