Exercise recap and a wishlist

Happy Sunday! :)

First OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS ROCK MY SOCKS!!! I mean I’ve never had so many comments almost make me start sobbing (in a good way) from my last post. Thank you more than you know for all of the kind words. You guys have some INCREDIBLE aspirations too, never stop chasing your dreams!!

And I gotta say a huge howdy to all the new readers, you guys are swell! ;)

 Sorry I was absent yesterday–I slept in, worked out, baked, did some shopping, met up with some friends to go pumpkin shopping, went out to dinn dinn with mi madre and padre, and next thing I knew it was time to go to sleep! Crazy how this time thing flies haha

Well since a new week is about to begin, I thought I’d recap my exercise from the week. 8)

Monday- Chest/Biceps weight lifting session (35 minutes)

Tuesday- 2.6 mile walk to and from campus (49 minutes—there was lots of waiting at stop lights and gazing at wild cats haha) and a Pilates video workout on TV (28 minutes)

Wednesday- Legs/Shoulders weight lifting session (40 minutes) KILLER

Thursday- Oxygen Magazine routine + a random crunches/reverse crunches circuit (20 minutes)

Friday- Back/Triceps/Abs weight lifting session (37 minutes) and a 1.14 mile walk back from campus (21 minutes)

Saturday- Christy’s Plyo routine and an abs circuit (20 minutes) abs circuit-EPIC

Sunday- REST :)

Total: 4.2 hours (250 minutes)

Wow. I didn’t realize how much I did…I have no idea where I got so much “bouncing off walls” energy either. Maybe it’s this INSANELY awesome weather we’ve been having in Texas ;)

I also wanted to share with you a list of foods that’re at the tippy top of my grocery list. I’m so excited to go shopping this morning with NO crowds! I know I can get a few of these at the store here, but others I think I’m gonna have to wait to get at Whole Foods whenever I go home for a weekend :P

  1. Goldfish sandwich thins (because who doesn’t want to eat a happy fish shaped sandwich!?)
  2. Pomegranates (they’re finally in season again yayyyyyy!)
  3. Tofu shirataki noodles (saw these on Brittany’s awesome blog and was really intrigued!)
  4. Spiced Pumpkin Clif bars (as if I don’t get enough pumpkin already haha)
  5. Whole Foods bulk nut area (I want to make my own trail mix for in between class snackage and WF never lets me down!)

NOMMMM :D

Before I go get ready to do some homework and grocery hunting, here are some random eats!

2 tilapia fillets (I was hardcore craving fish), edamame, and roasted asparagus

A few weeks ago I tried the lemon poppyseed cookie and loved it, so I decided to try the peanut butter. BEST decision ever. There’s real peanuts in this people!

Pirate’s booty white cheddar popcorn sample from the store. Not too too bad, but not sure if I’m a huge fan.

Oh Yeah Cookie Caramel Crunch bar–again…it was good, but not sure if I’m a huge fan

1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, peanut butter, sunbutter, Grapenuts cereal, and original Puffins

BYE!!! Sorry for the randomness!!

What things are you wanting to buy at the grocery store? Favorite workout you did from the past week?

  1. Pirates booty. Ugh I love that stuff. I just finished my last bag, which makes me sad because I don’t have time to go to the grocery store, plus I’m trying not to buy anything because I’m going to Dallas for the entire weekend.

  2. I love tofu shirataki noodles in stir fry! So good. I’m also jonesin’ for those seasonal clif bars as well. Pumpkin is just tooooo good. Have you ever had the peanut butter pretzel oh yeah! bar? It’s awesome!

I really want more kabocha squash. I could live off of it. I just roasted my last one and I’m already desperate for back up!

  3. OMg the goldfish sandwich thins look so awesome! I’ll definitely have to try those out!
For sure try shiritaki noodles – you MUST rinse them off though because they smell kinda fishy (literally – like a fish) when you open them, but once they are rinsed and patted dry you pop them in the microwave and you’re good to go fa sho!
PS awesome workout week – really working the weights – i gotta hit up the weight room this week…it’s been a while… haha

  4. When i was having soy the sheritaki noodles I ate had tofu in them too! They were pretty awesome :) Those sandwich thins are so awesome!! The shape/presentation of food totally influences me! Asparagus are up there on my top favorite veggies. Not only do they taste delicious they remind me of veggie tales :)

  5. Oh my goodness that first picture with the kid is flippen amazing! I died laughing… I am definitely planning on reenacting this photo next summer!
Your workouts always seem so intense.. just the way I like it! My favorite workout in the past week was a full-body strength found from Naomi’s website. My hamstrings are still sore two days later!

  6. Spiced pumpkin clif bars sound like an awesome flavour.
Im wanting to buy some chocolate hazelnut milk, whenever i go to the local heath food shop i see it, but its so expensive… but i think i might treat myself this time.
Fave workout lately was I finally reached my goal of running 10 km, im pretty happy with myself.

  7. well, my favourite workout was “kitchen yoga # 3 video blog.” and because i started posting my own yoga lessons last week, i officially got “kicked out of yoga class” by my three-year teacher, one who i loved more than any other teacher in my life. and i’m almost 30. that sucked and broke my heart. but spreading yoga to my fellow bloggers is more important to me than anything (other than my dog) right now. so, if you want to expand your workout, checkout “kitchen yoga!” :) here is the link: http://nicoleandgwendolyn.com/2011/10/07/kitchen-yoga-3-video-blog/. xx

  8. my fav workout this week was one i shared with j! he came to my gym & let me lead the workout! :) i totally kicked his butt (which was awesome since he mountain bikes, swims, and is a beach lifeguard!)
shoulders workout followed by 20 minutes of tabata sprints on the treadmill. my cred is through the roof! :)

  9. YUMMM I want a copy of that grocery wishlist please! Especially the clif pumpkin spice bar, holy heck.
I’ve never tried the “Oh Yeah!” bar but I feel like I would buy it just because the name makes me laugh. Same goes for the goldfish thins: I just think it’s so random that they are making fish-shaped bread? Who comes up with this stuff, and can I be their friend?

  10. I love the damn grocery store. You’re taunting me with this post, since I’m not shopping until next Monday :) I REALLY want goldfish and pretzels, and carrots. And pink lady apples.

  11. I want your big bowl of gloop at the end with the puffins! It looks so delicious :D and looks like some killer work outs! :D
by the way- I’m e-mailing you back right now. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reply! :(

  12. Pumpkin shopping? Colour me jealous! Those workouts sound awesomely intense. My favourite workout of the week was probably my 5K+arms and abs session at the new gym at my campus on Thursday. Top of my shopping list – more squash and brussel sprouts, I’m on a mission to try new veggies every week.

  13. mmm, I need to get my hands on one of those pumpkin cliff bars stat!

Staples on my grocery list almost always include:

    milk
    apples
    bananas
    yogurt (usually Greek)
    popcorn
    frozen veggies
organic snacks such as Annie’s bunny crackers/cookies

  14. Sounds like a great week on the fitness front. Good job girl! I love how you doubled up on the tilapia. One is just never enough!! And wowzers that cookie looks thick and amazing. I’ll have to keep my eye out for that one. Enjoy the rest of the weekend girlie!

  15. Yay I’m glad someone else walks to and from campus too! I do it every day since I have no car :( but it’s fun right now as long as it doesn’t snow!!!!!

I really really want those Clif bars too, especially the new peppermint stick flavor. I am all over seasonal things :D I also really want to try peanut flour or PB2!

Whole Foods has amazing trail mixes, btw! I’ve never made my own but I always get one called Chocolate Apple Crunch and I love it–it’s got nuts, raisins, dried apples and chocolate chips.

  16. Loving all that walking! The crisp weather is too nice not to take advantage of atm. Love the night snack! It looks like my ones hehe but better because you have puffins in America, darrrn it! Fave workout – probably my 5k yesterday, it felt like I was flying for some reason and I really want to get my hands on some turkey mince to make meatballs, nomnom. Have a relaxing Sunday chica!!
